Basketball 2013

As most of you know, D has made the basketball team at school.  Unfortunately they haven't won a game, however I must Friday's game was somewhat competitive for them. A few glitches on our team that need to be worked out and I am sure we will have our first win under our belt.  Our little man (D) is becoming quite the basketball player.  He absolutely loves the game although he isn't great at it.  But give him some time and instruction and he could be a strong worthy player.  Or maybe this is a phase?
Here are some photos from Friday's game:

What a Warrior!

It was 6 years after he was born,  he got his first mole on his face.  In grade 5 he tried to pick if off because the kids were making fun it at school.  His little face was a mess.  Then out of nowhere turn up these 2 little spider angiomas- broken capillaries.  They would become very little in the warm weather but appear again, very big,  in colder weather.  D's always hated these things on his face. So long story short, after visiting 2 dermatologist who wouldn't do anything about these things, we finally found a dermatologist who was eager to help D and his appearance ---being important especially now that  he is in junior high. Yesterday, D overcame his first go with  "laser cosmetic surgery".  He was so very nervous however the whole thing took only 1 minute for both spots to be lasered off.  He didn't cry, flinch or jump and didn't even know the procedure was over.  We had to tell him a couple times it was all done.  And then a big smile.  He said it didn't even hurt.  Now a couple of days of purple/red spots and then they should fall off/disappear and then only a small mole left on his face.  At this time, he has decided to leave the mole with no treatment, on the advice of the doctor and nurse.  This is D after his treatment.  Only slight swelling and purplish marks.  Nothing big!

New Year's Eve 2012

For the past couple of years D and I head to our local community New Year's Eve Bash.  It is a family event and even has fireworks at 8pm.  It is a lot of fun.  Unfortunately, Dawson is a little to old for the activities and next year we will have to look for a new activity for us to do.  But this year I snapped some quick photos for us to enjoy.
Human Bowling

Ice Slide with Madagascar Ice Carving

This slide is D's favourite thing at the event.

This lion was carved out of snow & ice.  It was so amazing.

Fire pit/ Warming station.  These line the walkway to keep the people warms.
Or course free skating at the local arena.  Usually they go on the lake but it was closed this year for fireworks.

Well that is all for 2012 folks.!
