Perfect Snow Day

Since it won't stop snowing these days, what a perfect day for Mr. Photography to try downhill skiing! Here he is having his first lesson. He did so well. He took some rough tumbles but had a smile that lasted for hours after.

It was a fun and freezing cold night for the phamtoms hockey team. They were one of two teams selected to have a pond hockey night with the Oil Kings (our whl team.) Mr. Photography had a great time. Here he is getting an autograph with it looks like the captain of the team.

Unbelievable

So on Saturday Oct. 25th, 2009 Dawson and I are sick with the flu but we needed to get out of the house. So Brent took us too Little Italy, here in Edmonton. We bought our favorite pasta and sauce to make a lovely cream sauce. It was so yummy! Here is the great thing. This is little store was so busy, but Dawson pulls on my arm and says look it's Joey's team!!! So I laughed. It was McMaster on it. Right in the middle of this little ethnic store, here is Joey. You gotta love it. So I had to take a photo. Dawson said "Mom everyone just stared at you. They probably think we don't own a TV." The unbelievable things you catch on your camera when your out and about!!!

Throwing A Wrench In My Day!

Literally. I woke up Saturday AM and of course had plans for the day. Until I found this on my van. A flat tire. So -got the spare tire on and headed for the tire shop. There was a four hour wait today to get my car looked at! How come we are never prepared for this? Is there ever a good time for a flat tire??? j.

Running for Terry

Today was the Terry Fox Run at Mr. Photography's school. And this was the shot I got --as he ran past me. There was no stopping for a photo. Next year Mr. Photography and his dad are going to participate in the Terry Fox Run. Dad will run and Mr. Photography will bike.

Excited I Am!!!

For a couple months I have been trying to download this background and it has not been working. However it is 4:30am as I work on this blog and finally, it works. I am so happy!!
Now, must take some photos to add the full effect. Actually come to think of it, I will be taking some photos today, already on the agenda. That is, if I don't sleep through the AM b/c I've been up all night. (Dawson is snoring and it is keeping me and him awake.) Oh well. It maybe early but I am happy today.

Somethings Happening.......

Ok,
I just wrote a whole blog entry on how everytime I jump onto someone's blog they get a visitor from Medicine Hat. Then went to post it and it disappeared. I wonder if some hacker (this is the part where my post suddenly disappeared....) is somehow linked to my computer?????? I will investigate this and may have to close this blog and start a new one... ummm.

Weird things are happening!!!!!

UMMMM.....The pancakes and sausage were so good!
Here we are beside Sparky's the fire dog's truck. The dalmation- remember him? He hasn't aged a bit!!!

August Trip

Here is our niece from PG, she is with her 1st place winning scarecrow- Hannah Montana. She is 5 years old. It was a very cute scarecrow.
This is Mr. Photography's entry into the fair, a chuck wagon and bobble head horse. He called it Man Tracker. He won 1st in his category too.

Here is our nephew and Mr. Photography at the fair/bumper cars. They had a blast. Until his auntie took him on tilt a whirl and he got sick. He claims he never wants to go on another ride again!

Mr. Photography and his grandparents fishing one early morning. He caught nothing and froze his little buns off. The temp was 5C. I guess the fish thought it was too cold to come to the surface and bite the worms too.

Nana made this fishing hat. Mr. Photography claims it is bad luck. He never caught anything with it on. I think he was just embarrassed to wear it! Mr. Photography went fishing
on 3 different days. He didn't have any luck - any of those days. Poor kid. All in all he had a good vacation and is happy to be home.

My Boy Beckham

Finally he likes a little style. He got a haircut today and a style too! He loves it. Too bad the product she used cost $21.00 to keep his hair spiked. And no - I didn't buy it. I am on a mission to find a cheaper product that will spike his hair. But I must admit he does look good.

Ahh Crumb!

Go figure!!! We are supposed to leave on VIA RAIL to go to PG on July 26th, to visit Nana & Papa and it goes on strike. I guess it isn't our time to take the train. We will still look forward to a trip on Via. Hopefully it will be this summer???

We Made It.

Last night we had a terrible storm that lasted for about 2 hours. It was the most scariest storm I've ever lived through. The skies darkened and and the clouds formed big "funnel like" shapes in some spots. The color of the sky went from grey -black- pink. But the wind! Mr. Photography had to hold onto me literally, so he wouldn't blow away! The winds were clocked at 110Km/hr. It is noted that we had a "plow wind" come through. Of course-- our area where we live, got hit the hardest. I am thankful that we are fine, but I never want to live through that again or a tornado! Here are some photos of the morning after.

Nothing stops those golfers!!!! The whole course had debris on it, just like this!

A tree almost down.
Thank goodness the tree didn't fall on this house. It fell on the road. There are many trees down today, the roads are very messy but no one got killed. It is amazing what mother nature can do!!!

The Street Performers

This weekend we ventured out to the Edmonton Street Performers Festival. It was a lot of fun. Different people show talents they have. I have blogged about some of the fun performers we saw. However the "Queen" who you could have your photo with was a little under the weather. Mr. Photography and I were looking forward to meeting her and getting our photo with her. Oh well, there is always next year.

Here is Elvis, shaking Mr. Photography's hand. Elvis got a small donation from us for dancing so well.
This is Pretzel. He makes ballon hats.

Pretzel's final product! A deer ballon hat for the little guy. It was really cute.

Here is the birthday girl and her family. 37 years golden. Thank you for all your birthday wishes.

Our Quick Little Holiday

Hey stop taking the same photos as me! Every time I turned around, he was taking the same photos as me. It got to the point he would jump out of the car faster than me and take the photo first! Young energy at its best.

We started the trip at the beautiful city of Lethbridge. What a great city, it is a place anyone could call home!

The city's famous bridge. Brent's grandpa used to drive the train over this bridge, when he worked for CP Rail.

Onto Great Falls, Montana. Here is the dam. It was neat to see.

Ok, I have never even heard of this place before grade 3. Mr. Photography learned about this place this year and he was so excited to go here. It is definetly an interesting piece of history.

Our last stop was at Drumheller, the Tyrell Museum. As fun as it was to go here, I did kind of feel like I was in the movie- Night at the Museum!

Should be there for the Fourth of July celebrations. I have never been to the states for their holiday. I am really excited. We are all excited. Will be updating the blog while I am there so keep tuned for more photos. We are leaving bright and early Tuesday morning.
So long for now.

Getting ready for Summer

I've posted this photo for my auntie in yk. Just to show her that if you get a french pedicure it really makes you feet look nice. It does cost more money. But for our family, it maybe the answer to making our funny feet, halfway sexy!

WHAT A LUCKY MOM:

I AM! Home made gifts are pricess. The first photo is that
of tissue paper flowers in a watering can and the second photo is that of cement mushroom with a lady bug on it. He painted it pink, because he knows his mom loves the color pink.

Friday is Diving Day

This is Mr. Photography's new spring time sport. He choose to go diving. He has always loved diving. He sits and watches it on TV! There must be something about this sport for him. On Friday nights he goes to the big pool in the city and does 1.5 hours of diving. And that whole time--- there is a smile on his face. I have never seen my kid so happy. This week he managed to get the confidence to go off the 3 meter platform (last photo) by himself. Considering he is afraid of heights this was a huge step for him.

One Cool Bunny.

After a short egg hunt (6 small eggs - filled with little chocolates.) Mr. Photography found this huge egg? What could possibly be inside?????

OMG!!! I tell ya, that Easter Bunny knows just what to bring Mr. Photography! I think blogging will take a back seat by him now. That Easter Bunny is so cool. Happy Easter Everyone.

Spring Break

We've just returned from our spring break! It was wonderful. We started out by returning Brent's dad back to Prince George. We stayed and visited with family for 3 days and then headed in the van and drove to Banff/Canmore. We drove thru Jasper/Lake Louise. A very picturesque drive normally, however it was not great driving- very slippery for about 20 miles of the stretch. Banff was beautiful. Canmore is my new home, when I win the lotto. After 1 night in Canmore we went onward to Calgary. That was fun. We went to the zoo. Ate at yummy Nic's. Peter's drive in was also very good. Can't forget Tom's House of Pizza! Mr. Photography got his thrills from the hotels water slides. It was all fun and went way too fast.

Missing!

This lonely mountain goat welcomes you to Mount Robson Provincial Park. Here is the story according to Brent's dad. There was once two of them, however someone sawed the other one down and stole it. So now there is one! If you come across someone's property and a mountain goat that looks like this, you will know where they got it from!!!

Canadian Rockies

Always a pleasure to drive thru, the Canadian Rockies. Of course you see the famous 3 Sister in Canmore and the mountain that towers over Banff. There is tons of snow on the mountains this week. They are still getting snow daily. Yuck

D's Favorite Day

This was Mr. Photography's favorite thing to do in Calgary. He loves the zoo. We saw the baby gorilla, and mini alligators. Something about small/ baby animals make them cute, even if they are on the dangerous side!
